1.Nintendo Switch 2 Launch Titles

Nintendo's next-generation console, the Switch 2, debuts with an impressive lineup:

  • Mario Kart World – Features open-world tracks, elimination mode, and supports up to 24-player races. 
  • Sonic x Shadow Generations – A remastered collection celebrating Sonic's legacy.
  • Deltarune Chapters 3 & 4 – Continuation of Toby Fox’s acclaimed RPG series.
  • Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma – A blend of farming simulation and action RPG elements.
  • Sid Meier’s Civilization VII – Switch 2 Edition – The latest installment in the renowned strategy series.


 5.EA Cancels Titanfall Project Amid Layoffs

Electronic Arts is laying off 300 to 400 employees and has canceled a game set in the Titanfall universe, codenamed R7, which was under development at Respawn Entertainment. 


The decision is part of strategic organizational changes aimed at aligning teams and allocating resources more effectively to foster future growth.

Epic Games showcases developments in Unreal Engine at this conference in Orlando, Florida.


3.Apple WWDC 2025

Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference is expected to unveil iOS 26, a new gaming app replacing Game Center, and updates to Apple Intelligence.


4.Summer Game Fest 2025

Hosted by Geoff Keighley at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, this event features world premieres and major announcements from over 60 partners, including Capcom, Square Enix, PlayStation, Nintendo, and Xbox. Hideo Kojima is confirmed to appear, potentially revealing updates on Death Stranding 2, OD, and Physint.


6.Gaming Industry Approaches $200 Billion in Revenue
The global gaming industry is projected to reach approximately $200 billion in revenue by the end of 2025, up from $184 billion in 2023. This growth is driven by the success of digital distribution platforms, major hardware launches, and highly anticipated software releases.

From Remedy Entertainment, FBC: Firebreak is a team-based, player-versus-environment first-person shooter set after the events of Control. Players form squads to combat Hiss-infected enemies within the Oldest House.

Hideo Kojima returns with the sequel to Death Stranding. On the Beach continues the story of Sam Porter Bridges, introducing new characters and expanding the game's universe.
